Our Essilor Partnership
Lake Oconee Eye Care Vision Source (LOEC) is locally owned by Dr. Susan Lee, Dr. Perry Lee, and Dr. John Titak.
Together they have served the Lake Oconee area since Dr. Susan Lee opened the practice in the summer of 2000. LOEC’s vision has always been to provide the best products and services to their community in a warm welcoming environment. In the fall of 2020, LOEC was able to open their new facility at 6061 Lake Oconee Parkway, which they attribute to the support of their patients, staff and the surrounding community. Expanding to this location gave them the ability to continue to grow to meet the increasing demand for eye care services in the lake area. Recently, Dr. Perry Lee shared how their strategic partnerships with Vision Source and Essilor helps them provide the best products at the very best prices.
“Our team decided to partner with Vision Source over ten years ago as they are the largest optical retailor in the United States with over 3,000 locations,” stated Dr. Perry. Vision Source exists to give its members the best prices on the best products. “As members, we are guaranteed to get the lowest prices on frames, lenses, sunglasses, and contact lenses. Lake Oconee Eye Care Vision Source then passes those savings on to our patients and customers. It’s part of our ‘we treat you like family’ moto,” Dr. Perry shared.
One of the most important vendor partners at LOEC is Essilor. Essilor offers a full range of optical lens products that include Varilux progressive lenses, Eyezen single vision lenses, and Transition photochromic lenses. Spending over $200 million each year in research and development (more than the next 3 competitors combined) to bring the best optical products to market each year, Essilor is rapidly leading the charge in value and innovation in vision enhancing products across the globe.
Varilux X series progressive lenses are among the best due to the four patented technologies they use:
W. A. V. E. 2 Technology – Also known as Wavefront Advanced Vision Enhancement, this advanced computer generated manufacturing process allows error or aberration free lens designs to give you the best possible vision, even in low light.
SynchronEyes Technology – Essilor recognized that the two eyes work together as a team and design each progressive lens prescription to match between the two eyes so there is little to no adjusting when you start to wear your lenses.
Nanoptix Technology – This is a patented lens shape and optical design calculation to eliminate size and shape distortions experienced in all other progressive lenses.
Extend Technology – This is a manufacturing process that allows an increased depth of focus at each point in the lens, so instead of each area of the lens only focusing at one point, it is focused for an increased range of points allowing you to see your reading and your computer without having to move your head.
“You will hear people say that all lenses are the same and that the only difference is price. That’s simply not the case,” says Dr. Perry. “I want to help people understand that Essilor lens technology is vastly superior to all other lenses and is protected by patents. This is why we offer Essilor at Lake Oconee Eye Care Vision Source, to provide the best products at the best prices. If it costs less, then it is not the same,” expressed Dr. Perry.
